E(lection)-Currentcy

26 June 2002. Kia ora taatou.

As a formative e-nterprise, InfoHelp chanced its arm and made a pitch for advertising trade with the Christchurch Central election candidates, via email. We invited Nicky, Tim, Rod and Liz to place a small ad with this technicians' reference website (yet to find Paul King's link). This was to test both their ability to encourage technology sector growth, as they had spoken to at Friday 21 June's IT community BBQ soapbox, and their online presence / availability.

Tim's office responded quickest, reserving an answer - thanks Kimberlee. Nicky's 'budget is already blown'. Rod and Liz are yet to reply. We'll keep you posted.

27 June. Waiting...

28 June. Still waiting.

29 June. Is that an hourglass we see? (These people are busy just now.)

30 June. Boot me up, Scotty!

01 July. Is this a joke?...

02 July. 'silence'

03 July. One week later, question: Why do so many people find so few politicians actually worth voting for?

04 July.

05 July.

06 July. Could it be something to do with their perceptible inability to 'put their money where their mouths are'?

07 July. This is a joke.

08 July. Ends.

29 July. Paul King found us, has indicated he will advertise for 2005, and is now winning this Online Challenge.

So, which will come first - an intuitive page/site sponsor, or the next election?

17 September 2005:

National came close to wasting Labour, with big finance strategy and largely using the Internet..

08 September 2008:

ICT is shaping up to be of even greater significance in this year's election..
Facebook is primetime & Faster broadband the goal of all parties nzherald.co.nz 17Oct08

08 November 2008:

National wins "infrastructure" campaign / debate / majority.
